Privacy Policy
Effective August 5, 2026
Gridzy has not launched yet. This policy describes how the Gridzy service handles information, including practices that take effect when the service opens to hosts and players. The pages on this website collect nothing at all.
Who we are
Gridzy is operated by Gridzy LLC, an Arizona limited liability company based in Phoenix, Arizona. In this policy, "Gridzy," "we," and "us" mean Gridzy LLC. You can reach us at admin@gridzy.io.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the gridzy.io website and the Gridzy service you reach through it. It does not cover anything a host does outside of Gridzy, or any other site a link may take you to.
This website today
The pages you are reading now are static. They have no forms, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no cookies. The fonts and images are served from our own domain, so loading these pages sends no request to any third party.
Information we collect
If you host a board
- Your email address. Signing in works by magic link: you enter your email address, we send you a one time sign in link, and clicking it signs you in. There is no password to create or store.
- The board details you enter. The board name, the names of the two sides, the board's state as it moves from setup to final, the numbers drawn for the grid, and the scores you enter for each period.
If you claim a square on someone's board
- The display name you type. This is whatever you choose to enter. It does not have to be your legal name.
- A contact detail you provide so the host can identify you and reach you about the board.
- Which squares you claimed and when.
There is no player account. Players are not asked to register, and we do not ask players for a postal address or any government identifier.
Technical information
Our hosting and database providers keep standard server logs, which can include IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use this to keep the service running, investigate errors, and prevent abuse. We do not use advertising networks, and we do not use analytics or tracking cookies.
When you sign in as a host, we set a cookie that keeps you signed in. It is necessary for the service to work and is not used to track you across other sites.
How we use information
- To sign hosts in and keep them signed in.
- To create and run boards, and to push live updates to everyone viewing a board.
- To let a host see who claimed which square on their own board.
- To answer support messages you send us.
- To protect the service against abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Who processes information for us
We keep the list of providers short and name them plainly:
- Supabase hosts our database, handles host authentication, and delivers the live board updates. Board data and claim data are stored there.
- Vercel hosts and serves the website and the app.
- An email delivery provider sends sign in links and any service email.
These providers process information on our instructions in order to run the service. Information is stored and processed in the United States.
What other people can see
A board link is public. Anyone who has the link can open the board and see the board name, the two sides, the grid, the scores, and the display names shown on claimed squares. Please do not put anything in a display name that you would not want visible to everyone the host shares the link with.
The contact detail you give when claiming a square is not shown on the public board. It is available to the host of that board.
Information kept on your device
When you claim a square, your browser saves the details you entered in local storage on your own device, so you do not have to retype them next time. That copy stays on your device and is not a separate record we hold. Clearing your browser's site data for gridzy.io removes it.
How long we keep information
- Board and claim data is kept for as long as the board exists, so that hosts and players can come back to a finished board.
- A host's email address is kept while the host account is active.
- Server logs are kept on our providers' standard retention schedules and are deleted on their normal cycle.
We do not currently delete old boards on an automatic schedule. If we introduce one, we will update this policy and state the schedule here.
Access, correction, and deletion
Email admin@gridzy.io to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it. To delete a board, write from the email address on the host account. To delete a claim, include the board link and the display name you used, so we can find the right record.
We act on verified requests within 30 days. We may keep a limited amount of information where we are required to by law or need it to resolve a dispute, and we will tell you if that applies.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your information. Write to us at the same address and we will honor requests we are able to verify.
Minors
Gridzy is for adults. Our Terms of Service require you to be at least 18 years old to use the service, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, email admin@gridzy.io and we will delete it.
Security
Board and claim data is stored in a managed database with access rules that keep private fields out of public reads, and traffic to the site is encrypted in transit. No service can promise perfect security, but we design for the smallest amount of information that makes the product work.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make it clear rather than quietly swapping the text.
